Hello. My name is Mickey and I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years. Over that time I have worked with individuals wanting help with their depressed moods, relationship and communication issues. Also not uncommonly low self esteem and related interpersonal conflict. Finally I have helped clients with anger, anxiety and fear of loss. Grief work has also been very significant.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clinical beginning is to ask the new client what brought them here now and can they tell me what they are looking for help with currently. Initially we will talk about the disabling symptoms-length, previous help attempted, what they are hoping to achieve in counseling and the possibility of working on assignments outside our first visit. Request the client bring in examples to help us work together on achieving his goals

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Initially I focus with the client on what brought them to see me NOW and what are they hoping to ACHIEVE as a result of the counseling process. I connect situations, present and past that are effecting them emotionally and interpersonally. Together we discuss the thoughts and feelings the client is experiencing resulting in unproductive behaviors. We work on healthier behaviors that improve thoughts and feelings
