First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perception of situations. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session covers a lot of territory because it includes understanding the problems clients want to solve but also taking a personal history of their lives leading up to therapy. You also quickly get a feel for how I approach things and even get some new insights from the first session but honestly it does involve answering a lot of personal questions but afterwards most people are surprised that it wasn't as hard as they thought it would be.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My ability to see things from multiple perspectives and have insight from years of experience and help clients develop many new skills they can use long after therapy. I believe I have a creative imagination that I channel into a practical down to earth approach. I like to think I have a good sense of humor that can be appreciated at times to lighten one's outlook.

My treatment methods

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is effective for a variety of problems. The use of trance induction is optional for effective outcomes. Hypnosis can work when other therapies have failed to achieve the desired results you want but it is often my first choice because in some cases it produces immediate, lasting results.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavior therapy is another effective therapeutic method that helps to manage emotions with a logical approach and a willingness to try new behaviors to achieve the change you want to accomplish.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT and EFIT can be effective in processing emotions associated with difficult or traumatic experiences that allows you to move forward and gain a sense of relief and resourcefulness in dealing with challenges.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Is a basic foundation of what enables hypnosis to be effective. It is a method of change that uses linguistics or the words we use to express ourselves and our problems and how to reprogram our proceptions and mind to respond more resourcefully to problems.

Somatic

I incorporate somatic processing into all of my therapeutic approaches. It involves getting in touch with the felt sense of emotions in the body and as a result we become more aware of and able to process emotions by unlocking and releasing their hold on us.
