Hi, I'm Ayesha! I'm a licensed professional counselor based in Dallas, Texas. I provide virtual therapy all over Texas for adult individuals. Seeking clarity in therapy can be a result of mental health challenges. When you experience symptoms such as low moods, triggering thoughts and body image distress, this may lead you to feel overwhelmed with anxiety, depression or even stress and fatigue. Unfortunately, many people suffer in silence and avoid working on their thinking patterns which can lead to more challenging emotions like guilt, shame and unworthiness that can reinforce dysfunctional beliefs and behaviors endlessly.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I take the first intake session to get to know you and your presenting issues. I believe building a therapeutic relationship is essential to facilitate your healing journey. To do this, I like to collaborate with you while also utilizing a direct yet warm and affirming style that will allow you to challenge yourself. I like to meet my clients where they are and see where they want to go while coming up with a treatment plan that will help guide you there.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I like to see my clients as a whole, therefore, really understanding your background and story is essential for me to be able to treat you. I also encourage my clients to take lead and have autonomy in their sessions.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate ACT into sessions by practicing with clients on how to accept their emotions while also reflecting on their values and how their behaviors/decisions are aligned with their values.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate CBT by providing psychoeducation on how our thoughts impact our feelings and behaviors. I help clients by practicing exercises such as tracking their thoughts, reframing and challenging their thoughts while identifying unhealthy thought patterns they may be utilizing.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is an intervention for PTSD. I will use this as appropriate and provide psychoeducation around it prior to starting these sessions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate DBT into sessions as a way to increase various skills such as mindfulness, interpersonal skills, distress tolerance skills and skills to emotionally regulate.
