Hello! I have worked as a counselor for 10+ years now. I earned my bachelor's degree from Lees-McRae College in beautiful Banner Elk, NC, and my master's degree from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. As a therapist, I truly delight in problem-solving and coming up with solutions. But I also value being a good listener and holding space (I know, that term is a bit overdone right now….).
Th intake session is designed to ensure that I more fully understand you, the reason you are ready to make a change, and the details of your situation.
As a therapist, I take pride in combining Evidence-Based Practices with a warm, welcoming environment. I prioritize clear communication and strive to make sessions both enjoyable and enriching, providing you with proven, effective skills for growth.
I incorporate DBT into my practice because of its practicality and ease of use. My goal is to seamlessly integrate these techniques into our sessions so they feel engaging and natural—not like a classroom lecture. I appreciate this approach for its flexibility, empowering clients to practice skills at their own pace. It’s about exploring possibilities, being mindful of your own desires, and taking meaningful action.
I use EMDR because it helps process trauma and difficult memories that may remain unresolved through traditional methods. This approach supports clients in moving forward by facilitating deeper healing and transformation.
