As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I guide high-performing individuals and couples through transformational growth. I help clients unmask their true identities, navigate complex relationships, and create lives aligned with their deepest values. My approach blends empathy, insight, and practical tools to foster meaningful change rooted in authenticity, liberation, and lasting harmony across life, love, and work, empowering clients to live more fully and intentionally.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, once you’ve completed the initial paperwork, we’ll dive into the core reason you sought therapy. I focus on creating a supportive environment filled with empathy and validation while maintaining a curious, nonjudgmental stance. I may also incorporate humor, candor, or meaningful self-disclosure to build rapport and trust. When relevant, I use metaphors, analogies, and anecdotal stories to provide insight, always tailored to your unique needs and experiences. My goal is to help you feel understood as we begin this collaborative journey toward your growth and healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my ability to create a safe, empathetic space while fostering deep, meaningful connections with my clients. With over two decades of experience working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan—from children to adults—I’ve had the privilege of serving clients from diverse backgrounds, including various races, ethnicities, nationalities, and socioeconomic statuses. I’m also flexible and adaptable, tailoring my approach to each client’s unique needs and experiences. My expertise in identity development and relational dynamics, combined with my personal experience as a neurodivergent Black woman, gives me valuable insight into the complexities of navigating life, love, and work. Clients appreciate my blend of humor, candor, and authenticity, which helps them feel seen and understood while encouraging their growth.

My treatment methods

Multicultural

I honor my clients' intersecting identities, with a focus on those from marginalized communities, including Black and BIPOC individuals. I view culture as deeper than race, gender, or religion—it encompasses familial, regional, and neighborhood influences that shape identity. I work to integrate an understanding of these dynamics into therapy while being mindful not to conflate all intersecting identities with the specific framework of intersectionality or intersectional feminism.

Integrative

I use an integrative approach, drawing from multiple therapeutic models, including multicultural, experiential, attachment-based, and existential therapies. This allows me to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, incorporating aspects like cultural identity, relational dynamics, emotional experiences, and life purpose. By combining these methods, I ensure a flexible and holistic approach that supports clients in reaching their personal, relational, and emotional goals.

Couples Counseling

I specialize in helping couples navigate challenges by fostering open communication, emotional connection, and deeper understanding. My approach is particularly effective for BIPOC, interracial, and neurodivergent couples, addressing the unique dynamics these relationships face. Through a blend of relational and identity-focused techniques, I support couples in strengthening their bond, resolving conflicts, and building a foundation for lasting harmony.

Existential

In my existential therapy approach, I help clients explore fundamental questions about purpose, identity, and meaning. I also integrate spirituality—whether in the context of, or independent from, religion—because it often plays a vital role in how people find meaning in their lives. This approach is not about promoting a specific spiritual or religious practice, but rather about helping clients navigate their unique beliefs and experiences to cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves and their life choices.

Experiential Therapy

I use experiential therapy to help clients connect with their emotions and experiences in a more direct and profound way. By incorporating activities, role-play, and creative expressions, I guide clients to uncover underlying emotions, beliefs, and patterns that influence their behaviors and relationships. This active, hands-on approach encourages self-awareness and emotional release, allowing for deeper healing and transformation.
