Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Connecticut. I have over 15 years of experience in the Mental Health field and have been practicing as an LPC for the past few years. I work with adults and specialize in CPTSD and Trauma. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems informed. I prefer to work with individuals who are interested in EMDR and have done previous therapy. I am passionate towards helping individuals find appropriate healing techniques, unleash their strengths, and discover their inner potential to benefit their lives positively, through emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. I empower individuals to work from within by focusing on varying approaches that are individualized to their needs. I practice with a caring, compassionate, respectable, and culturally sensitive approach; while also challenging individuals to reach their greatest potential. I place emphasis on person-centered therapeutic approaches and believe that no single approach is right for every individual. I have been trained in other varying modalities, including trauma informed therapeutic modalities: Gestalt Therapy, Gestalt Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Active Parenting, alternative to family’s cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based, body centered therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and therapeutic modalities utilizing art and music. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults in community mental health, educational resource centers for veterans & students with disabilities, residential facilities, and private practice. I also have a huge passion for and a wide array of experience working with individuals through animal assisted interventions approaches including dolphins, canines, and horses. I also utilize a therapy dog Rex, to assist with sessions. Rex has received specialized training to become a therapy dog. He is very compassionate, affectionate, and attuned to individuals.
In our initial session, we'll begin by getting acquainted and establishing a comfortable environment. From there, we'll explore your goals and interests for therapy. This will provide a foundation for us to develop a personalized roadmap for our future sessions.
In my practice, I emphasize energy work and holistic approaches that integrate mind, body, and soul. Drawing from personal experiences with trauma and CPTSD, I view this as a strength, as my understanding is deeply rooted in experiential knowledge rather than solely academic studies.
I am certified in EMDR and trained in Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems. I focus on the individual needs and structure our treatment planning around the goals of the individual. I prefer to work with individuals who have gone through therapy before and are wanting to explore EMDR and IFS.
