Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters from the Walden University and have been practicing for 4 years in a residential treatment facility focused on helping youth ages 11 to 18 and outpatient clients dealing with challenges due to Autism, familial conflict, depression, anxiety, and other struggles. I collaborate with children, adolescents, young adults and adults to create a treatment plan setting attainable goals. I have evening and weekend appointments to accommodate those individuals or families if that works better for you. If you need other times than I have listed available, please reach out to me. I can try and accommodate and meet you and / or your family when convenient.
Our first session will include brief introductions, various assessments depending on the challenges and creating a treatment plan to guide future sessions.
My greatest strength as a provider is using active listening and gentle challenging skills to provide a different perspective to work toward healing. I will work with you, offering a safe, respectful, non-judgmental environment for you to explore any challenges you may be facing. My holistic and existential approach works for those individuals and families who are are willing to look at the hard stuff; in your own time, not mine. Holistic therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on the “whole” person and I work with you to integrate the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional aspects of you. The ultimate goal of holistic therapy is to help you and / or your family develop a deeper understanding of all these levels. Together we will work toward a higher level of self-esteem and self-confidence. The way holistic therapy works is a result of collaboration between myself and the individual and /or family in treatment. We will co-create and develop a treatment plan that works for you using traditional and alternative methodologies. The holistic approach utilizes scientific approaches while focusing on prevention if necessary, and harness the power of the body to heal itself.
I use TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment to help children and adolescents recover after trauma. Through TF-CBT we will address and improve the symptoms of post-traumatic stress in youth. I employ psychoeducation, which teaches the victim about the normal reactions to traumatic experiences, coping skills, including relaxation exercises like deep breathing, mindfulness, acceptance, identifying and redirecting thoughts, and other methods, gradual exposure, which involves gradually introducing the patient to memories of their traumatic experience, with the goal of reconditioning their response to triggers and easing emotional distress, cognitive processing, which can include developing skills to recontextualize unhelpful feelings and thoughts, and regulate emotions, and if appropriate, caregiver involvement, which may include rebuilding trusting adult relationships for the child and training the caregiver in how to best be a resource for the child. My goal is to help the client, and family, develop a sense of safety and security, to repair or develop healthy social skills, and for the caregiver to feel more confident in their ability to help the child in a productive manner.
I use this modality to help clients understand their place in the world by exploring the human experience through the lens of philosophy and psychology. I focus on universal human experiences like death, freedom, responsibility, and the meaning of life.
I focus on the client's strengths to enhance resources and interests to promote hope and healing. Strength based interventions provide a safe space to explore resiliency and quality of life to promote healing and reduce negative self-talk.
I use family therapy, a form of group psychotherapy (talk therapy) focusing on improving interfamilial relationships and behaviors. Family therapy can help with situations such as adjusting to a new life change; changes and challenges that come with aging; death and grief; and relationship conflicts.
I utilize a humanistic therapeutic approach to build a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, accepting, authentic, and honors the unique world in which the client lives. I believe there is an interrelatedness between the client's psychological, biological, social, and spiritual dimensions. I focus on capitalizing on the innate capacity toward self-understanding and psychological health.
