About me

Hey there! I'm so glad you're here. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Carolina. With a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I've developed a range of skills in different therapy techniques to help you on your unique path. With over six years of experience, I've worked with a variety of clients, helping them navigate the ups and downs of life. I specialize in providing compassionate care for those dealing with challenges like depression and anxiety, and I'm all about equipping you with practical tools and strategies to help boost your emotional well-being. If you're working through grief and loss, I'm here to support you as you process those complex emotions. I also help people who are facing stress from significant life transitions—whether it's changing careers, moving to a new place, or adjusting to any significant life changes. You don't have to go through it alone! When it comes to relationships, I focus on helping you communicate more effectively and resolve conflicts so you can build healthier connections. For anyone who's experienced trauma, I use evidence-based techniques to promote healing and resilience, helping you reclaim your story. As a bilingual counselor, I offer services in both English and Spanish, making it easier for you to access support in the language you're most comfortable with. My mission is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we'll set personal goals and work toward a happier, more fulfilling life. I'm excited to be part of your journey—let's get started!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address and change unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors. In my practice, I often use CBT techniques to assist clients in recognizing negative thought patterns, challenging those thoughts, and replacing them with more balanced and realistic thoughts. CBT also involves working with clients to change unhelpful behaviors by setting specific goals and using various techniques to modify behaviors over time. I have found CBT to be effective in helping clients manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have found Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to be an efficient approach in my practice. I use it to help clients who struggle with regulating their emotions, managing interpersonal relationships, and coping with distress. DBT's skills training, focusing on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, has been invaluable in helping my clients achieve a greater sense of control and well-being in their lives. Combining individual therapy, skills training, and coaching has brought significant positive changes in my clients. I have witnessed firsthand how it can help people transform their lives.

EMDR

I have been using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in my practice for some time now. I have found it to be an effective therapy for helping individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences. EMDR involves using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to help clients reprocess distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact. In my practice, I typically use EMDR with clients who have experienced trauma, such as those with PTSD, anxiety, or related issues. I have seen significant improvements in clients' ability to cope with their past experiences and reduce associated distress after using EMDR as part of their treatment.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is an approach that I have integrated into my practice to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence around behavior change. I find it particularly useful when working with clients who may be resistant or uncertain about making changes in their lives. Motivational interviewing allows me to engage clients in a collaborative and empathetic way, helping them to identify their motivations for change and resolve any conflicting feelings they may have. I use reflective listening, open-ended questions, and affirmations to facilitate a non-judgmental and supportive environment for clients to explore and articulate their goals. This approach has proven effective in empowering clients to make meaningful, lasting changes.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my practice, I use Rogerian-centered therapy, also known as person-centered therapy, to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment for clients. By offering unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness, I aim to facilitate self-exploration and awareness. This approach has effectively built a solid therapeutic alliance, helping clients feel understood and accepted.
