I believe my background as a female of a minority race, and the daughter of immigrants helps me see individuals in a nonjudgmental space informed by a social justice lens. My upbringing, education, and work experience combine with a unique level of appreciation and understanding that helps me connect with people on a more intimate level. My clinical approach is client-centered and strengths-based, meaning I will meet you where you're at in terms of readiness for change, while also therapeutically challenging you by helping you access your unique strengths and abilities. I will tailor the therapy to what is most supportive to you. I have experience working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, OCD, procrastination, suicidal ideations, addiction & substance use disorders, sexual identity & gender identity-related issues, as well as race-related stress. I enjoy working with young adults who may be going through a variety of challenging transitions in their life. I also enjoy working with first-generation women of color who may be experiencing a unique set of challenges from some of their peers/counterparts. I will help you meet your goals through the use of evidence-based practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Behavioral Activation (BA). Your input is essential, and I will frequently invite your feedback to ensure our work together remains aligned with your expectations.
