I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience. I am committed to helping others with mental health struggles. I was drawn to family therapy to understand my family's dysfunction and how it impacted me growing up. My training has been instrumental in bringing relief to individuals. couples and families. Solution-focused treatment and brief treatment methods work. I engage with my clients to mutually work on treatment goals incorporating homework to increase resolution to completing treatment goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session entails hearing the clients' perspectives on their concerns about the issue. Next, I will engage with the client to get a thorough assessment of the issues, and the associated systems (employment, health, marriage, children family relationships, and family of origin). Finally, we will discuss if they would like to move forward with therapy. Together we will begin to work on the goals for treatments.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My expereice in a single fami.y therapy, family addiction, and having to raise my children as a single parent gives me great insight into clients' traumas and emotional pain. in addition, I have worked with veterans on and off military bases, as a social worker for Department of Children and Families and psychiatric hospitals.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I am trained in the Solution Focused Brief treatment method as part of my extensive graduate academic and hands-on experience, I work directly with the client to incorporate a variety of solutions geared towards solution resolution. Brief treatment is the goal however if longer treatment is indicated the client and I will continue to work towards a common goal-oriented completed treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find CBT invaluable in the therapeutic process. It assists clients in viewing communication and thinking as a different way to alter faulty thinking making the ability to use and work on more productive solutions.
