I’m a licensed therapist who strives to see families and parents learn new ways, techniques and strategies on how to cope with real life changes and see individuals learn about themselves and begin to process life challenges. I have lived, went to school and worked in the Central Florida area for nearly 20 years. I enjoy the traditional Florida lifestyle of exploring nature, the springs, the beaches and all the hiking trails and state parks Florida offers.
During the first session, it will possibly feel very formal as I may ask many questions to confirm I'm on the same page with you about what your goals are for therapy and what brings you to therapy in general. I will address confidentiality and the limits to that as well as if there is a minor-age client attending sessions then we will address how confidentiality works in those sessions.
As a therapist for the past several years, I have developed a greater understanding that Clients will share with me exactly what they want to when they are ready. I have learned that although I may want to dig in deeper, sometimes it's not the right time and that is okay. I believe my ability to see a client's perspective from their lifespan helps us learn root issues rather quickly so we can really begin the processing part of therapy and learning healthy coping skills that actually work with specific brain types, for example being neurodivergent.
I love working with individuals of all ages who are facing lifes challenges, wanting to process trauma history, learn how to implement self care and self love into their lives. I love to truly provide a space that allows a client to be exactly who they are, who they need to be to process their experiences in a truly judgment free zone. Additionally, I like to work with children and parents to build healthy interactions and healthy communication in a challenging day and age to raise kiddos in. I really love to help Clients connect their mental health with brain and body because mental health is not just a brain thing.
I really do believe that when Clients come to see me for sessions, they will talk about what they want to when they are ready. I don't have to pry too much to learn about a Clients experiences. In that process, we will also discuss ways to implement healthy coping skills and how to manage in day to day life
