I work with adult clients 18 and up, and I have a special interest in promoting healthy relationships with both individuals and couples, as research shows that having close and loving relationships is the most significant contributing factor to happiness over the life span. I have experience and proficiency in treating mood disorders, career issues, self-esteem problems, ruptured attachments, grief, etc.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will chat for several minutes about what’s bringing you to therapy, and then I will conduct a thorough assessment of many aspects of your history. We will discuss your goals for therapy and what you can expect from me as your provider.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is my deep understanding of the pain of attachment wounds and facilitating a safe, warm and productive environment for clients to heal and have emotionally corrective experiences. I also thrive with promoting self-acceptance and compassion. Lastly, I have common sense, good problem-solving skills and a good sense of humor, and I have found that these qualities are great for building rapport with clients.

My treatment methods

Couples Counseling

I enjoy supporting couples in improving their mutual understanding of one another’s feelings, needs and preferences while helping to bolster their communication. I pride myself in being fair and offering each partner equal support and accountability.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I like to encourage clients to lean into the notion that unpleasant feelings are a normal part of life, and to commit to taking positive action in their lives that is accordance with their values.

Positive Psychology

I love discussing what the research says about what makes people happy with my clients, as most people want to feel better and live happier lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I like to examine peoples’ negative core beliefs and assist them in developing affirming beliefs that help them reach their goals.

Compassion Focused

Empathy and compassion go a long way in helping people heal and progress in therapy, and this comes naturally to me. I ultimately aim to teach clients how to cultivate compassion for themselves.
