Hello, thanks so much for taking the time to visit my profile. I have been a therapist for over 20 years. The first day was quite profound September 11, 2001. It was my first year as an intern, and I walked to my desk. Well people were shouting and telling me to turn on the TV. I quickly realized the impact of world events on our community and individuals experience.. As a clinician, I have had the privilege to work in a variety of settings including community based middle health centers, faith, based organizations, hospice, social, work, outpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization programs, college, counseling centers, as well as serving as a full-time faculty, member, and a bachelors social work program. My goal is a therapist is to treat each client as a unique individual. This is the holistic approach that I bring and I try to utilize all my experience to help each person achieve their goals and to move forward in life.
I try to give clients a clear idea of how I view their circumstances and what strategies I think are best. I believe in open dialogue and a collaborative process.
My approach is holistic in that I treat the whole person not just the disease or presenting problem. I am trained in psychodynamic theory, family systems, solution focused, and CBT.
My biggest strength is to really get to know each client as an individual. I try to speak to people in common every day language, and relate to them as they see the world.
