What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first therapy session, I typically focuses on building rapport and understanding the client's concerns. This session often involves discussing the client's background, current issues, and therapy goals. I will explain EMDR and CBT, address any questions or concerns, and establish a foundation for the therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been a therapist for the last five years and a social worker for 17 years. Clients have feedback that I possess a blend of empathy, patience, and strong communication skills, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for them. I use active listening to help fully understand and address the client's concerns and needs. I am committed to ongoing education and self-awareness, ensuring they remain effective and up-to-date with the latest therapeutic techniques and research.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic technique used to help individuals process and heal from trauma. By guiding clients through specific bilateral movements while they recall traumatic events, EMDR aims to reduce the emotional impact of these memories and promote adaptive thinking.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a treatment method for trauma that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. Through structured sessions, clients learn to identify and challenge distorted thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and reduce symptoms of distress associated with traumatic experiences.
