Welcome! My name is Marlén Jiménez. I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Los Angeles, CA. I identify as a first generation Latina with a passion for mental health. I am a graduate of UCLA and received my professional degree from the University of Michigan. Although I primarily work with adults, I have extensive experience working with all ages across the lifespan. I have over 22 years of experience in the field of mental health and support clients as they navigate life's various stressors, transitions, anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome and relationship stress. I believe in creating a safe, friendly, non-judgmental space that is both compassionate and culturally sensitive.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first meeting you can expect a warm welcome as we get to know one another , explore your story and review expectations and plans for treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and solutions-oriented, helping you gain inner strength and courage to move forward in a consistent way. I am passionate about my work and aim to build trust and safety in the therapy setting. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is foundational for creating change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

What we say to ourselves we believe. CBT interventions can help you recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. We’ll then use that knowledge to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns that may be getting in the way of your day to day living.

EMDR

Adverse experiences can leave us feeling stuck and unable to move forward. EMDR can help reprocess and resolve upsetting memories.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Two things can be true at any given time. DBT helps us to accept the reality of our lives while also working towards change. DBT focuses on teaching skills to manage intense emotions, cope with challenging situations and improve relationships.
