As your counselor, I'm down-to-earth, honest, understanding, and warm. The counseling room is about discovering more of what you want for yourself. In counseling, I will create an environment for you to awaken to more of the life you have dream of. Although I use various therapeutic techniques, one of my favorite is emotionally focused therapy, which allows you the freedom to explore your emotions in a safe environment. No one wants to be controlled by their emotions. In counseling, I want you to have an experience which will lead to emotional healing and give you the freedom to better direct your thoughts and behaviors. I can help you become equipped to process and heal from your difficult emotional and behavioral patterns. Biblical Christian counseling is available for Christian clients. I also use cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR. I give clients weekly homework to help them achieve their goals in and out of the counseling session. In the first session, we will work together to establish your goals for counseling and get to know each other more. As your counselor, counseling is about you. We will explore what you feel is important. We will only talk about what you are comfortable talking about. My clients know they are free to set their own goals and topics for counseling.
I do not criticize or judge my clients for anything they have done or any choices they have made. I'm here to help clients understand and heal. As a counselor, my job is to help you unearth what you need to know about yourself and your world to meet your goals. I want to help you define your values and discover what is keeping you from living according to them. With goals and values aligned, you can live better now and many years from now.

When we are caught up in our own thoughts, they are often repetitive and do not show the larger picture. With CBT you can learn to think more broadly about yourself. You can learn to see a deeper part of yourself to make decisions based on your more complete self.
With EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, your thoughts can move to a place of processing and moving out of difficult thought patterns. With skillfully incorporated eye movements and specific thought focus, you can move through these thoughts in session. Since the 1980s, EMDR has successfully treated clients trapped in negative thoughts and emotions. Although EMDR is often used for trauma treatment, it also helps with unhealthy, self-directed beliefs. I offer EMDR for adults, teens, and children. Schedule an appointment for online therapy. If you've held unhealthy beliefs about yourself such as "I'm worthless" or "I won't succeed," give EMDR a try. You can understand better the truth about yourself. Learn more about your authentic identity with EMDR. Sometimes events happen or people tell us lies about ourselves, and we're too quick to own them. I understand it's easy to believe thoughts that are hurtful and untrue. With care and compassion, we can work together. EMDR can help you set yourself free from a false identity. You don't have to stay trapped in your negative thoughts and beliefs.
