Do you feel like nothing you do is ever right or that you have to put yourself last to make sure everyone else in your life is taken care of? Maybe you’ve been struggling with self-criticism or setting appropriate boundaries, either with yourself or with others. Life is hard enough without us getting in our own way. You deserve to live a life that is in line with your values or priorities; a life filled with joy and success, however, you want to define it. I help people see their true potential and to use their strengths to make changes in their lives. I also help people learn to live in the present moment and to find peace in the current situations they find themselves in. I work with older teens and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, eating disorders, assertiveness/boundary setting, self-criticism, and family/relationship conflicts. I use a blend of many different therapy approaches; my focus is on finding what works for you. I only see clients over video so that therapy can happen around your busy life and in a place where you feel comfortable. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I graduated with my master’s degree in social work in 2016. I also hold bachelor's degrees in psychology and multicultural queer studies. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cuddling with my cat, and going on walks with my wife and dogs. Are you ready to take control of your life? Call today to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions focus on assessing many aspects of your life including the current concern, any past mental health concerns, past mental health treatment, current and past coping strategies, support network, family relationships, and work/school. If there is time, we will start defining your goals for treatment. Before the first session, I require clients to complete the three forms that Grow sends to all my new clients. I ask that you get these done by 5pm the day before your first session. At 5pm the day before your first session if the forms are not filled out, I will need to cancel our first appointment and then we will need to reschedule for a later date.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Past clients have told me that they appreciate my straightforward approach and the humor I bring into sessions. I am also very genuine and will not evade questions or give canned therapist responses. I believe one of the biggest predictors of success in therapy is the relationship built between client and therapist. A strong relationship means you can feel secure enough to say what's really going on and know that I'm not going anywhere or judging.
