Welcome and congratulations on taking this step. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California and have been working in the counseling field for over 20 years. Prior to my counseling career I was an International Montessori Teacher for more than a decade. I am originally from Austria and moved to California 30 years ago. I have also worked a great deal in animal assisted therapy including Equine Therapy and am strong believer that animals provide meaningful emotional support. My training is deeply rooted in attachment theory and I have an existential-humanistic approach to life, which means I would like to support you in the present moment with interventions that work for you "right now" and potentially explore life patterns that are keeping you from reaching your full potential. My clients tell me that I have a down to earth approach, direct but warm and with concrete goals and interventions to lessen your symptoms. I believe in treating people with dignity, respect and compassion and am not a big believer in stigmatizing labels. If you think we could be a good fit - connect with me and we will find out.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together you will have the opportunity to see if we are a good fit. It is important for you to find the right fit and I encourage you to keep looking until you find it. I will answer any questions you may have during our first meeting and we can work together on outlining a potential therapeutic path; When you first schedule, you may not see much availability because I only take in a few new clients at a time so I can tailor treatment according to your needs. I conduct the bulk of my sessions starting Sunday evening through Wednesday with some availability off and on Fridays. I hope this is helpful in your decision making process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Here are some of the areas I feel I can be of assistance: Exploring attachments, Women's Issues, Parenting Guidance - especially if you are a single, working parent, Grief, Relationship Stressors (although I do not provide couples therapy), Low Self-esteem, Chronic Pain, Anxiety and Depression Management, Emotional Regulation and Distress Tolerance, Major life Changes and Stressors related to Purpose of Life, Unfortunately, I will not be able to write ESA letters (although I can connect you with some resources who can), sign disability paperwork, or provide psychological evaluations of any kind.
