About me

My work as a psychotherapist is rooted in a profound belief that by recognizing and honoring our complex, messy life stories with honesty and gentleness, we lay the foundation to heal the obstacles preventing us from building fulfilling, meaningful lives. Throughout life, we all create narratives about ourselves to help us survive. These narratives are shaped by myriad factors (individual life experiences, relationships, intergenerational legacies, and experiences of oppression/privilege, belonging/rejection, among others). Over time, our narratives and coping mechanisms fall short. We wonder, what went wrong? What's wrong with me?

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, you can expect me to approach our interaction with passion and dedication to your growth and well-being. I am committed to getting to know you on a deeper level, creating a safe space for exploration and understanding. Together, we will work to unravel and process the internalized thoughts and emotions that may be holding you back. I aim to help you connect with your core self, encouraging authenticity and transparency in our discussions. We will explore ways to release any shame from your past, fostering a journey towards self-acceptance and embracing all aspects of who you are. Through our collaboration, we will work towards unlocking your potential and guiding you to become the best version of yourself.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Drawing from over 20 years of clinical training/experience, I provide a compassionate, empathic, culturally responsive, and social justice informed space in which we collaboratively unpack stagnant self-narratives. In coming to this site, you have taken a step toward self-care, healing, growth—toward developing self-awareness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am seeking a client who is motivated and committed to making positive changes in their life. I am looking for someone who is willing to invest the time and effort required to work towards real progress and live their best possible life. I hope to connect with a client who is open to unpacking unresolved baggage, addressing past traumas, and developing insight to achieve their goals. Together, we can explore perspectives, heal from past experiences, and create a lifestyle that aligns with their aspirations for growth and well-being.

I wish I could highlight everything in this review. She helps dig out parts of my inner workings that I didn’t know were an issue. But also to get down to what was or is causing me the problems. She is able to really help me get to the root of what is going on with me as well as encourage me in what I am making progress on. She has been a wonderful help to me this past year and I look forward to having her help me navigate more in my life where I am just now learning how to feel.

I had my first session with Sharry, and I already feel so thankful for the experience. She created a safe, non-judgmental space where I felt comfortable opening up about my thoughts and feelings. She had an incredible ability to listen deeply and truly made me feel heard and seen. I finished the session feeling lighter and more understood. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey with her and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a compassionate and attentive therapist.
