Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona, with a Master's degree in clinical health counseling. I have been practicing since 2020 in both agency and private practice settings. Each method I use in therapy is grief and trauma-informed, and sessions are designed to meet the specific needs and strengths of my clients. I have experience working with both adults and adolescents to help them successfully use strategies that allow them to reconnect with themselves and regain their foothold in life.
Our first session will be designed to help you feel comfortable with me and with therapy by answering any questions or concerns you may have. I will also gather information from you that will help me understand how you think, communicate, and what you desire to gain from our time together, so we can design a plan for future sessions.
I have a variety of both personal and professional experiences that help me to be an empathetic listener and to hear the story behind the story that you share. I am able to help you explore and clarify what will help you move from where you are to where you want to be. We will use the strengths and resources that are already within your reach, as well as encourage you to take the steps needed to get the outcomes you are seeking.
My main approach to therapy is Person-centered, which means that the I will support you as you lead the session. My role is to listen to you and to reflect your thoughts and ideas back as well as explore them more through questioning techniques. In this way, you are truly in the driver's seat of each session, with helpful guidance from me when needed.
My therapy approach is also focused on helping you find the solutions needed to live life more fully and to implement them in the way you desire. This method focuses on current circumstances and future hopes. My training in SFBT helps me to listen for information from you that prompts different questioning techniques to help you gain insight and solutions that can be implemented in a shorter period of time.
Using a variety of CBT techniques, the interplay between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are explored in each session. CBT can help to develop strategies and mindsets that better support your ability to live in healthier ways.
When experiencing difficult emotions or situations, some clients may benefit from the unique approach of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. DBT teaches us methods of accepting, tolerating, and managing situations outside of our control. Through these strategies, I can help you learn specific tools that are designed to help with very strong emotions, interpersonal relationships, and mindfulness.
