About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over ten years of experience working in a variety of social service and mental health settings. I help people cope with painful emotions and improve their relationships- with themselves and others, so they can live their best lives. It is important for my clients to feel validated and understood. I meet people where they are and am compassionate and warm. I help people feel better quickly by using effective tools rooted in evidence based techniques.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will talk about what brought you into therapy and how I can best support you in addressing your unique challenges. I'll ask you some questions about your background to get to know you a bit better and then we'll work together to develop a plan for your treatment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am genuine, warm, and adept at recognizing and building upon my clients’ many strengths.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am passionate about women's health issues ranging from infertility to postpartum and menopause. I began my social work career working in the foster care and community mental health systems. I learned the importance of cultural humility while working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds. I met people where they were and understood that they were the true experts about their lives. Later in life, I experienced an infertility crisis. During that time, I leaned on a skilled therapist and other members of the infertility support group that I hosted. The importance of surrounding myself with people who "get it" became clear and fueled my desire to give back to the community that kept me afloat during an incredibly painful time. Currently, my wisdom, past experience, and strong clinical skills help me connect with women of all backgrounds at varying stages of their lives.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a clinician at a psychiatric hospital, I became extensively trained in DBT. I continue to facilitate DBT skills groups to help patients reduce their reliance on detrimental ways of coping including substances, self-harm, and avoidance and replace them with effective tools so they can feel better and be effective in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients recognize the link between their negative self-talk and mood symptoms. We work together to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Relational

Healing happens through supportive relationships. I use a warm, compassionate, and strength based approach to help build a strong therapeutic alliance and help people improve their relationships with themselves and others.
