Hi, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in California for 20 years and I hold a doctorate degree in the Philosophy of Counseling. I am in my second marriage for 28 years now after my 24-year first marriage failed. I have seven children between the two of us, 31 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. I have had good success counseling couples who have given up on their relationship, especially those who have experienced infedelity. I don't counsel children until they are 18. I enjoy helping people understand how they became the way they are and therfore find ways to leave dysfunction behind.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Previous clients have said the knowledge shared with them, and the options we explored together which they would never have thougt of, helped them deal more sucessfully with the challanges they were facing. Many say my style is gentle and understanding.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

When a client has Christian Beliefs, those will be accepted as resources to help the client resolve their issues at hand.

Psychoeducation

Often getting an explanation of what is happening psychologically, can assist in mitigating the cause of mental health issues.

Couples Counseling

Often with couples, changing how communication is handled between the two resolves the majority of relationship issues.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Understanding the power of emotions and using that power to better resolve mental health issues eases mental health issues.
