Hello, I’m a licensed clinical social worker based in Illinois, specializing in anxiety, depression, and stress management, mindfulness, and working with veterans. I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate their mental health, manage anxiety, and reconnect with their sense of purpose. As a therapist, I believe in a systemic approach, understanding that we all operate in an intricate web of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they relate to others around us. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), existential, and humanistic modalities to help you explore these connections and build a stronger foundation for growth. I take a collaborative and compassionate approach in therapy, recognizing that every person has both strengths and vulnerabilities that shape their healing journey. My goal is to support you in tapping into your resilience, finding clarity, and fostering a life aligned with your values. If you're looking to explore your growth or tackle anxiety, I’m here to help you move forward, offering services through a secure tele-health platform.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll begin with introductions and a discussion of privacy rules. From there, I'll ask about the challenges you're facing and gather relevant background information to help me understand your situation. We'll also explore whether we're a good fit to work together, ensuring you feel supported and confident in the guidance I can provide. This session will lay the foundation for a personalized treatment plan moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I value being genuine, compassionate, and authentic, and I try to bring that to my practice. I strongly believe that people can find hope and strength and actively look for those qualities in my clients. I have a variety of work experiences, from labor, case management, military, inpatient psychiatric hospitals and intensive outpatient programs. This variety of work experience has brought me in contact with a diverse group of people at different stages of their lives.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I specialize in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is a highly effective approach for helping clients process and heal from trauma. Over my years in practice, I’ve found TF-CBT to be particularly powerful because it addresses the impact of trauma on thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we will work to identify the ways trauma may have shaped your thinking patterns and emotional responses, empowering you to create healthier coping strategies. In addition to TF-CBT, I incorporate other treatment methods based on your unique needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance emotional regulation, and Motivational Interviewing to support personal change. This integrative approach ensures that we can work together in a way that feels most comfortable and effective for you, meeting you where you are in your journey.

Existential

In my practice, I use Existential Therapy to help clients explore life’s deeper questions and confront issues such as meaning, purpose, and personal responsibility. This approach encourages you to reflect on your existence, values, and choices, empowering you to live a more authentic and intentional life. Together, we will examine how you relate to the world, find clarity in uncertainty, and develop a greater sense of freedom in your decision-making. While Existential Therapy focuses on self-awareness and embracing life’s challenges, I also integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address thought patterns, Motivational Interviewing to encourage meaningful change, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for resolving past traumas. This holistic approach ensures that you can explore not only philosophical concerns but also practical strategies for improving your well-being.
