My name is Kirsten, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am passionate about creating a space for anyone who chooses to boldly take control of their lives and has the desire to be mentally and emotionally healthy. It is my goal to provide a positive, non-judgmental, and supportive environment in which you feel both seen and heard. I work collaboratively with you to identify your strengths, areas for growth and help you move along the path to change. I draw from various therapeutic modalities to create a tailored approach based on your presenting concerns, goals, and motivation.
Currently, I only provide teletherapy. We can schedule an initial consultation before completing an intake to determine if we are well-suited to work together. If we decide to move forward, intake is 1-2 sessions where I assess your presenting issue/problem and explore your relevant background, culture, and values. Intake ends with a diagnosis and a collaboratively-identified treatment goal. Every 4-6 sessions, we check in on that goal and adjust treatment (or the goal) based on your progress.
My greatest strengths as a provider include a deep sense of empathy and compassion, which helps me connect with clients and understand their experiences. I am adept at tailoring therapeutic approaches to fit individual needs and am committed to empowering clients to take an active role in their growth. With strong problem-solving skills and a solid grounding in evidence-based practices, I offer a flexible and culturally sensitive approach to therapy. My dedication to continual learning ensures that I remain up-to-date with advancements in the field, further enhancing my effectiveness as a therapist.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By working together, we can identify and challenge any negative thought patterns and replace them with more balanced and constructive ways of thinking. Together, we’ll set specific goals to work towards. These goals will be clear and measurable, helping us track your progress and make adjustments as needed.
I strive to implement a strength-based approach in clinical practice involves focusing on clients' strengths, resources, and resilience rather than solely addressing problems and deficits.
