Hi! I'm Emily and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Art Therapist, and Professional School Counselor. I received my Master's in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Art Therapy, at Adler University (formerly the Adler School of Professional Psychology) and School Counseling Endorsement from DePaul University. I have been practicing for over 12 years and I help individuals, adolescent through adulthood, manage emotional distress and learn healthy coping strategies to reach a higher level of social-emotional wellbeing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will introduce myself, and try to understand the challenges you are facing. I will ask questions to understand the history of these challenges, what may trigger a heightened level of emotional distress, and what/if any coping strategies and supports you already have in place. From there I will create a plan to help you achieve your goals towards a higher level of increased social-emotional wellbeing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love what I do and truly enjoy connecting with and helping my clients. Through working with diverse clients over the past 12 years, I have strengthened my skills in helping clients understand the complexities of their emotions. I have a wealth of healthy coping strategies to teach and add to your "toolbox" to turn to in moments of distress. My goal as a therapist is for you to gain self-confidence and independence in these skills, to the point that you no longer need me.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When working with clients, I use CBT to help them gain further insight into their emotions and how they impact their thoughts and actions. We then focus on learning and practicing coping strategies and self-care routines to help regulate emotions and maintain social-emotional wellbeing.
