Hi there! My name is Kaylyn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Virginia. I graduated with my MSW from Radford University in Virginia, and have been practicing for 3 years. I am passionate and committed to supporting others through their mental health & healing journey. I am truly honored to bear witness to the lives and experiences of the clients I work with. I prioritize creating a safe and comfortable environment for sharing and growth, and look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, my main goal is for you to feel comfortable and welcome in this virtual space! We will start with introductions, and then discuss your current challenges and goals for therapy. You will leave our first session with a solid idea of where we're going from there.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my greatest strengths are my warmth and authenticity. I believe a strong connection is one of the most impactful elements of the therapeutic process, and I always strive to create a solid foundation for growth.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I use a DBT informed approach to help my clients manage intense emotions, and work toward positive change. I have experience applying DBT interventions with both adolescents and adults.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an incredible modality that is used to assist clients in processing and healing from traumatic experiences. My practice emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment, where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace.

Strength-Based

I utilize a strengths-based approach with each of my clients, helping to promote positive self-image and personal growth. I believe in empowering individuals to work through challenges while highlighting existing skills to create change.
