If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or eating issues, I would love to help you! I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio with 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. For many of those years, I worked in a community mental health setting and developed an expertise in helping people with anxiety and depression. I also have a health coaching background and have spent the last several years helping women with various eating and weight issues, such as emotional eating and overeating. I provide a warm and non judgemental environment in which you can feel safe to explore these sensitive issues. I use a combination of evidence based approaches to help you develop new skills and coping strategies so that you can feel a sense of control and confidence. It IS possible to change and to build the life you so deeply deserve. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m here!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will provide a warm and supportive space in which you can explore your current struggles and identify what you want to accomplish during your time in therapy. Then, we’ll identify options and strategies you can use to attain your goals. You will leave feeling a sense of hope and already equipped with 1-2 tools to start practicing right away.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I approach every client with great empathy and curiosity. I love to help people explore their issues and challenges, and am very good at helping them to actually move forward and create change in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have many years of experience using CBT with great success. CBT is an incredible way to gain awareness and understanding of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors all interact. Once you have this awareness, you become empowered to change your thinking patterns, which then impacts your feelings, actions and ultimately how you experience your life. CBT is a powerful tool to help you achieve your desired goals and lead a more fulfilling life. I use CBT often with anxiety, stress management, depression and emotional eating issues.

Motivational Interviewing

I strongly believe that every person has the strength and ability to change, even if it’s been difficult to change in the past. Through Motivational Interviewing, I will help you explore your values, goals and reasons for wanting to make changes in your life, along with what may be currently holding you back from making the positive changes you really want. MI is a powerful way to facilitate and sustain positive transformations in your life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I love to use Solution Focused Therapy to help clients identify specific goals and the steps needed to attain them. We focus on figuring out what it is you want to achieve, and then together come up with a roadmap on how to get there. I help you envision the future you want, and use your existing strengths to come up with a clear plan on how to achieve your desires and overcome any obstacles that get in your way.
