There is hope and potential to blossom within a world that can feel overwhelming, stressful, and depressing. We cannot pour from an empty cup; nourishing and caring for yourself is critical to overall well-being. Working together, I can help and guide you along the way to identifying old patterns and developing new perspectives and ways to cope and manage these difficulties. I am an open-minded, non-judgemental, trauma-informed therapist who believes that we all have the capacity to grow and change. I view each client's situation as unique and truly believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to working with people. For those who feel burned out in helping professions, there is an additional complication: how can I help others in these systems? As someone who has worked within the child welfare system, I can offer another level of understanding of these stressors.
As your therapist, I will work with you to identify your goals for therapy and how we will work toward them. Our work together will blend coping strategies and skills to manage current distress, as well as explore past issues that are influencing present-day difficulties.
As a person with ADHD, I can relate to the stress and anxiety that people may be experiencing due to the effects of ADHD. I have worked extensively in the child welfare system, and have a unique perspective to support professionals working in that system with burnout, compassion fatigue, and more. I am also a Maryland Board Approved Social Work Supervisor.
I use a variety of trauma-informed, strength-based and client-centered treatment methods.
