Hi. I am Victoria. I believe that we each have the power within us to heal, change and grow the life we’ve always imagined. But no one does this alone. I value the power of therapeutic relationships to help us overcome fears and obstacles that get in the way; whether from trauma, symptoms of anxiety or depression, or difficult medical, societal or environmental circumstances. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and completed a Post-Master's Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center. I have been a licensed clinician for 35 years. I am also a Qualified Supervisor of therapists specializing in the treatment of trauma of all kinds including loss and attachment trauma from disrupted relationships. I work with pre-school children and their families, school-aged children and teens and adults. I have successfully treated a wide range of behavioral health disorders including ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, BiPolar Disorder, Eating Disorders and many co-occurring concerns. I am person-centered and strive to be culturally aware in all that I do. Therapy proceeds at your pace, in your time at your direction. I would love to be alongside in your journey to help you discover your heart’s light.
I am very curious about people and can always generate the discussion, and then listen. I try to give my clients "a pearl" each session ; an idea or action they can use to help themselves between sessions.
I use a person-centered, psychodynamic approach to therapy with a focus on development, object relations, integration of mind, body and spirit, and family systems. I am trained in Parent-Child Psychotherapy, EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Clinical Hypnosis, Sensorimotor strategies in therapy and I have a certification in Telemedicine. I have practice Child-Centered Play Therapy for 30 years, and Crisis Intervention for 15 years.
I feel that my strengths include a strong capacity to develop relationships as a tool for healing, experience, emotional intelligence and the ability to relate to a broad group of individuals by being patient, curious and compassionate. I truly love people and feel grateful and honored to be a part of decreasing suffering and increasing resiliency wherever possible. I strongly believe in post-traumatic growth, and the reintegration of traumatic experiences into one's life with new strength and meaning. Humor helps everything!
