Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and am based in Illinois. I received my Master's degree from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign and have been practicing for 8 years. I help adults, especially those that are struggling with life transitions, such as becoming a caregiver for an elderly parent, changing jobs, or navigating retirement to help them develop tools and coping strategies to navigate transitions more effectively.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then ease into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me to guide you to create a tailored plan for us to work through together in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In my 8+ years working with adults I have worked to perfect my skills so that I am able to provide you with a safe, caring and non-judgmental environment so you feel comfortable when sharing your thoughts and concerns. I see you as the expert on your life and together we will identify your inner strengths so that I can assist you in taking the steps needed to move past obstacles and to achieve the goals you create.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I have been using eclectic therapy for the past 8 years and multiple clients have found this treatment method encompasses their individuality. As you are unique, we will adapt your treatment to your unique needs depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and your expectations and motivation.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Using Mindfulness-Based therapy I can assist you with being present in the here and now with a non-judgmental awareness of your thoughts and feelings. In the 7 years I have been using Mindfulness Therapy, topics such as self-compassion, stress management, and emotional awareness are some of the themes that frequently are brought up in session.

Motivational Interviewing

I have been using Motivational Interviewing to help clients for over 9 years, having assisted dozens of clients find their motivation to make changes and meet their goals. With Motivational Interviewing, I will work with you to help resolve feelings you are uncertain about and find your internal motivation that will help you change your behaviors. We will use a collaborative, goal oriented style of conversation that will embrace your own reasons to make changes.
