I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. In order to make changes in your life, you have to be willing to put in the effort. It is my goal to make my clients feel comfortable and safe because this is where you are going to get the most change and progress. Coming to counseling is a very personal step. One that you should feel hopeful about. Many clients say they are nervous about their first session. To combat those feelings, I assure you that I will listen, provide a space for you to process your feelings, explore your thoughts and behaviors and provide strategies and techniques to help reach your goals. With no judgement. I seek to provide culturally competent counseling to all individuals. I will be walking with you as you process life situations and how they have affected you. I have experience working with individuals, children, families, couples, and groups in a number of settings. I look forward to working with and meeting you!
The first session is an assessment Intake and requires gathering information and working on goals and treatment plan. In the sessions thereafter we will be working on progressing towards your goal. That may consist of identifying triggers, providing coping skills, processing trauma, improving communication skills, healthy anger management skills etc.
Currently, I specialize in working with adult individuals and couples. I am especially interested in attachment styles and how our childhood experiences shape our view of ourselves and the world around us.
My method of treatment varies for each client but CBT is the most commonly utilized because it has proven to be successful for a range of problems clients face.
