As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I provide comprehensive mental health support to individuals, families, and communities facing a variety of challenges. My role involves conducting thorough assessments to understand your needs and developing tailored intervention plans that promote emotional well-being and resilience. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral therapy as well as acceptance and commitment therapy to help you navigate personal struggles, build coping skills, and achieve your goals. My commitment to fostering a safe and empathetic environment empowers you to explore your thoughts and feelings, ultimately leading to positive change and improved quality of life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where you feel safe to share your thoughts and experiences. We’ll begin with an open dialogue to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, allowing you to express your concerns and goals. I will conduct an initial assessment to understand your background, current challenges, and any relevant history. Throughout the session, I’ll prioritize building rapport and trust, ensuring you feel heard and validated. Together, we will explore the potential paths forward, and I’ll introduce my therapeutic approach, emphasizing collaboration and empowerment. By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of what to expect in future sessions and the tools available to help you on your journey toward healing and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my greatest strengths lie in my empathy, active listening skills, and ability to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you. I genuinely care about your well-being, which fosters trust and encourages open communication. I will speak honestly and directly to your challenges and the solutions we identify. My ability to synthesize various therapeutic approaches allows me to tailor my interventions to meet your unique needs. Additionally, I excel at helping you identify your strengths and resources, empowering you to take ownership of your own healing journey. My commitment to ongoing learning and professional development ensures that I remain informed about the latest research and best practices, further enhancing my effectiveness as your therapist

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

My expertise lies in 3 approaches to therapy. Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Our sessions will be fluid, not constrained to one approach but purposeful. I utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) in therapy to help you explore and enhance your intrinsic motivation for change. By employing a collaborative, empathetic approach, I create a safe space where you can openly discuss your struggles and concerns about making changes in their lives. Through reflective listening and open-ended questions, I guide you to articulate your values and goals, helping you connect your aspirations with actionable steps. This process will encourage you to identify and overcome any barriers to change, fostering a sense of ownership over your own journey. By reinforcing your autonomy and strengths, Motivational Interviewing empowers clients to commit to positive actions, ultimately leading to sustainable change and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In therapy, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to your emotional and behavioral difficulties. Through collaborative discussions, we will explore how these thoughts influence feelings and actions, and together we will work to reframe them into more constructive perspectives. You will be equipped you with practical tools, such as reframing your thoughts and behavioral experiments, which empower you to test out new ways of thinking and behaving in real-life situations. By focusing on specific goals and measurable outcomes, CBT fosters a sense of independence and sense that you are in control of your thoughts, feelings and behavior thus enabling you to develop healthier coping strategies and improve your overall emotional well-being. This structured approach not only addresses current issues but also equips you with the skills that you can use long after therapy has ended.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you embrace your thoughts and feelings without judgment, fostering psychological flexibility and resilience. Through ACT, we work on developing mindfulness skills that allow you to observe your experiences rather than becoming overwhelmed by them. This process encourages you to accept difficult emotions as a natural part of life, rather than something to avoid. Together, we identify your core values and set meaningful goals that align with those values, empowering you to take committed actions despite any internal struggles. By integrating acceptance with action, ACT helps you build a more fulfilling life, focusing on what truly matters to you while learning to navigate challenges with greater ease.

Trauma Informed Care

I am trained and certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a highly effective trauma treatment in which YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT YOUR TRAUMA. It is simple and can eliminate symptoms of trauma in just one session. If you feel your trauma experience has negatively affected any areas of your life, let's do something about it today.
