Hello! I am a LPCC based in California and I hold the view that a person's upbringing and environment play a crucial role in shaping who they are. My passion lies in working with teens navigating challenges, parent-child dynamics, adults facing adversity and life transitions, grief, and offering support around LGBTQ+ identity issues. I take a trauma-informed and family systems approach, integrating cognitive-behavioral techniques, internal family systems (IFS), and mindfulness practices. I specialize in grief and recovery, offering a compassionate space for you to process your emotions and experiences.
We will work together as a team to co-investigate why you are the way you are. Let's uncover the stories, body sensations, experiences, and patterns that help us understand your own expression of self. Healing is a journey, and you don't have to do it alone.
I aim to build a meaningful relationship with you and support you in reaching your goals at your own pace. I understand the value of your unique experiences and strive to approach our work with authenticity and clarity, while being mindful and respectful of cultural and societal factors. I strive to meet you exactly where you are, providing a safe and supportive space to help you move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I have been using CBT since the start of my career and have gone through various training to hone this modality. I use CBT in sessions to help clients identify, understand, and change patterns of thinking and behavior that are causing them distress. We challenge negative thought patterns, reframe thinking, focus on behavioral change, practice and learn new coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques, identify and work on core beliefs, ensure that mindfulness is an active practice in our work together, and actively work on goals that lead to change.
In Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, I help clients explore and understand the different "parts" or aspects of their inner self, working toward healing and integration. The therapist begins by introducing the concept of “parts” to the client, explaining that these parts are not pathological but normal aspects of their inner life. We will build trust with these "parts," identify and understand each parts. By helping clients form a compassionate, collaborative relationship with their parts, IFS therapy empowers them to release past burdens, improve emotional regulation, and move toward a more integrated, authentic self.
As a certified Grief and Recovery Specialist, I work with clients in an intensive 8-10 week program that helps individuals process and cope with the complex emotions that come with loss, whether it's the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or another significant life change. This program educates clients on what grief is, how to recover from loss, and how to express those words left unspoken. In a therapeutic setting, we will use grief therapy to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and even relief, without judgment.
