Hi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been in the field for over 10 years working with all ages. My focus has been on providing services to those who are looking for guidance to resolve issues that have made their present difficult. My approach is that of helping you find your own path to feeling like yourself again and using a combination of techniques specific to your needs.
In our first session, we will discuss your needs and what you are looking to get out of therapy. We will discuss any issues you are facing, at your own pace, and we will discuss what the goal of therapy will be. First sessions can sometimes be intimidating so I will let you tell me what you need and will ask questions if you prefer.
Having worked in this field for sometime now, I have learned that some client need time to trust and be able to share what really brings them to therapy. I have learned to be patient with the therapeutic process to let the client feel welcomed and comfortable to share when they feel ready to.
I have used CBT as part of my modalities to work with Anxiety and Depression and seems to be effective combined with other treatment methods.
I have used this Mindfulness-Based Therapy to work with a variety of disorders to help client stay present and decrease negative and distorted thinking patterns.
