About me

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work, I am passionate about actively listening to human experiences. I understand that many people deeply desire to be heard, honored, and feel connected. I firmly believe that clients are the experts of their own lives, and it is a privilege for me to cultivate a space where they feel safe and brave enough to invite me into the most challenging and vulnerable parts of their journeys.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect to receive validation and affirmation. Seeking therapy can be challenging and may evoke fears and resistance, especially if it's your first time. Even those who have experienced therapy before might face other challenges when seeking help. I am here to understand what will best support your sense of safety, with the hope that you will invite me into some of the most painful or vulnerable areas of your experience. You can anticipate warmth, care, support, and empathy throughout our time together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I emphasize the importance of honoring clients' stories. I believe everyone has a unique story that shapes their experiences and views. Using empathy and a relational approach, I strive to build genuine therapeutic connections that foster shame resilience. I help clients recognize their strengths, practice self-compassion, and embrace their humanity, including their vulnerabilities, as I support them throughout their healing journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a passion for serving youth and young adults who feel silenced, and are underserved. I focus on providing validation and affirmation while highlighting their strengths. My goal is for my clients to feel connected and build meaningful, trustworthy relationships not only with others but also within themselves. I aim to equip them with tools to embrace their authenticity and identify those who they trust and who deserve to hear their stories.

My treatment methods

Relational

I always like to start with a relational approach. This creates a safe and authentic space, acknowledging that both the client and I are human, with our own experiences. Trust is established and built over time. Once this trust is in place and I am invited into the most vulnerable parts of your journey, I will help you in the healing process by affirming your strengths. Strength-Based

It is important to show yourself grace, feel empowered, and embrace vulnerability, recognizing that vulnerability is not a weakness but a strength in building resilience and genuine human connections. I always honor the strengths that others may not see in themselves. I recognize that many people are survivors of painful experiences, and it took significant strength and resilience to become just that. You may be surprised by the strength you truly have to get this far. Together, we can also work on improving the areas that feel more challenging. Once you recognize your strengths, my hope is that you will feel empowered and confident enough to address those tough issues that have been difficult to tackle before.

Psychoeducation

Critical awareness is incredibly important. Recognizing that systems can significantly impact how we think, feel, and interact is essential. When we are provided with psychoeducation on topics like grief, trauma, depression, and coping, it gives us leverage to take control over what we can and navigate the things that are beyond our control. The beauty of education and wisdom is that it doesn't all come from me—you are wise and the expert in your own experiences, too.
