The first session is about getting to know each other and the therapeutic process. I want to know your story and your goals for treatment. I can inform you about the process and how it can help you attain your goals. We will also start working on coping and grounding skills which we practice together.

In childhood we tend to internalize and that trauma gets trapped. The trauma creates behaviors and responses that lead to negative patterns, addictions, anxiety depression and more. EMDR uses bilateral stimulus to rewire the thought processes and shift that negative thought process to more adaptive and resilient processes. I use a combo of talk therapy, EMDR, and CBT/DBT interventions to help you recover from trauma.
