Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical social worker based in North Carolina. I received my Masters from the North Carolina Central University and have been practicing for 6 years. I help children, teens, adults, couples, and families struggling with life, and family stressors impacted by trauma understand the origins of their responses and gain awareness so that they can become the best versions of themselves.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. We will discuss presenting issues, which include the symptoms you're experiencing, the intensity of those symptoms, and how frequently those symptoms are currently impacting you. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked as a trauma-informed therapist for 6 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. I believe my most prominent teacher as a provider is presenting as my authentic self and encouraging my clients to be their authentic selves to increase their likelihood of receiving holistic care.
As a therapist, I have experience with trauma-informed care as a community mental health as a certified Family-Centered Therapist, Inpatient Psychotherapist, as well as an Outpatient Therapist.
Acceptance and commitment therapy and the treatment modality I utilize my thermometer services to support clients in decreasing suffering and increasing emotional regulation and distress tolerance so they can navigate difficult situations.
As a family therapist, I use my experience as a Family Centered Therapist to support families in navigating conflict and understand the impacts of generational trauma on the family system to help them decrease conflict and improve their quality of life.
As an EMDR therapist I clients and address negative cognitions that keep them stuck and prevent them from moving forward with life goals.
