Hello! I’m Lisa Westcoat a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida with 13 years of experience. I received my Masters from Nova Southeastern University. I enjoy helping clients who are struggling with trauma, anxiety and depression and become empowered to be the best versions of themselves through our work together. I utilize different therapeutic techniques and will tailor your sessions to meet your unique and specific needs. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply to cope with change, regain hope and work towards healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll get to know each other a little bit better, I’ll answer any questions you might have about therapy or the therapeutic process and then we’ll dive into the specific challenges you're struggling with. We will discuss the goals you’d like to achieve in therapy and this will help me create an individualized plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I genuinely care about your well-being. My therapy style is warm, compassionate and empathic combining experience, and a sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to the therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've utilized CBT in my practice for the last 13 years to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. By working collaboratively, we will explore how these patterns contribute to reoccurring negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors that create emotional distress. Through techniques such as cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation, we’ll empower you to adopt healthier thought processes and behaviors, leading to improved emotional well-being along with healthy coping skills.
