Welcome! Therapy is an invitation for healing and change, so congratulate yourself for actively seeking transformation in your life. My name is Bridget, founder Mind Move Therapy that provides psychotherapy, somatic movement therapy and physical health coaching. I approach therapy from a holistic- emotional, physical, cognitive perspective. I specialize in Somatics- emphasizing that the body holds emotions, trauma responses and stress so healing includes the body. My clients report positive results from therapy with me. You can overcome symptoms of trauma and stress, heal from the past and live happier and more meaningfully. I specialize in treating various traumas, including childhood trauma, abuse, loss, and PTSD. I specialize in the treatment of stress, anxiety and depression. I work with clients with Borderline Personality tendencies or those impacted by BPD. I work with clients with Body Dysmorphic Disorder and other somatic issues. I support clients with addiction issues. Every client walks a unique path and deserves to be listened to and understood in an empathetic way. I create a safe, therapeutic environment where clients have the opportunity to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors in which to gain insight, experience shifts in emotional states and find a renewed sense of mental and physical well-being.
In our first session, we will be introducing ourselves, establishing rapport and I will be gathering information from you to begin formulating a place to begin therapy from.
I believe my greatest strengths are being compassionate, knowledgeable and passionate about supporting clients wellbeing and mental health. In addition to a psychotherapist, I am a Somatic Activated Healer and bring a wealth of mind body knowledge into my therapy practice.
Often clients overthink, ruminate or try to solve problems from thinking thoughts. The body experiences emotions though, and it is through the body and healing can take place. I work with clients to create a mind body balance, work with emotions directly and support clients to build a toolkit of healthy coping skills that includes body based practices to support their mental and emotional health.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy includes clients reflecting on their patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, as each part influences the other. DBT
DBT utilizes Mindfulness practices, Distress Tolerance skill building, Interpersonal skills ( you in relation to others), and emotional regulation skills to support clients to exceed healing into even greater positive states.
Childhood traumas and stress often present with wounds from parent attachment bonds. Good, insightful healing is available by recognizing, processing and empowering the client who may have suffered attachment issues.
