I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Master's Degree in Counseling from Amberton University and have been practicing for over 20 years. Therapeutic focus involves helping my clients identify their current struggles, obstacles & any negative thinking/behavior patterns that are keeping them stuck. The goal is to help them develop better coping strategies, which leads to decreasing their anxiety level, increased ability to better manage their stressors and improve their overall mental health. I have experience in the specialized field of dealing with First Responders and their family members. I have also obtained my 2023-2024 TCI Trauma-Informed Care Training Program Certification.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session we will explore any current stressors/problem areas/obstacles, as well as past history to get a clear picture of who the client is and areas that we can develop counseling goals to address in a therapeutic setting. The client is the one driving the boat when it comes to the things that they want to work on, but I will also make recommendations and help with problem solving from a therapeutic perspective. Everyone has their own unique needs, so my goal is to meet each client where they are at. My therapeutic interventions include CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Reality Based, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Compassion, Psychoeducational approaches, as well as providing empathy without judgement in a safe/trusting environment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a "Recovering Workaholic, Over-Achiever, Perfectionist & People Pleaser" I have Expansive Knowledge & Experience from working in Management in Corporate America to be able to help my clients navigate all the workplace stressors related to job burnout, unhealthy boundaries, HR issues, lack of work/life balance, struggling with difficult supervisor/coworkers and/or toxic work environment. I also have the ability to connect with my adult clients with the use of stories, humor, compassion, psychoeducation, tough love (when needed) and humility.
