What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I want to emphasize that the first session is about building a relationship and starting the therapeutic journey. You don’t need to share everything in the first session. Take your time, and feel free to go at your own pace. Therapy is a process, and we’ll work together to explore things as you feel ready. Your first session with me will be an opportunity to share your story, explore your concerns, and begin the journey of healing and self-discovery in a safe, supportive environment. My goal is to ensure that you feel heard, respected, and empowered as we work together to address your challenges and achieve your therapeutic goals. If you have any questions or uncertainties before the session, I encourage you to reach out, and we can discuss how to make the process as comfortable as possible for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my biggest strengths are being able to easily develop rapport with clients and show them that I too am human and have succeeded in working with a therapist in reaching many of my own mental health goals. I'm down to earth, relatable, empathetic, compassionate, and caring, yet I gently challenge clients when necessary. I also feel that a strength of mine is being able and comfortable self-disclosing when it helps the client to achieve their goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve clients who are looking for a supportive, empathetic, and evidence-based therapeutic approach to managing mental health, emotional challenges, and life transitions. I specialize in working with individuals who are ready to explore their struggles, learn new coping strategies, and work toward healing and personal growth. My approach is collaborative, allowing clients to take an active role in their healing journey while providing them with the tools, support, and understanding they need to thrive. If you are facing challenges related to anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, relationships, or personal growth, I would be honored to work with you to explore the best path forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my approach to therapy, I draw on a variety of methods, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the core techniques I use. CBT is highly effective for addressing a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress, by focusing on the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The beauty of CBT is its structured, goal-oriented nature, which allows clients to see measurable progress while actively participating in their own healing process. It empowers individuals to take charge of their thoughts and actions, which leads to long-term improvements in mental health.

Compassion Focused

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) is an approach I use with clients who struggle with self-criticism, shame, trauma, or emotional distress. The essence of CFT is centered on cultivating self-compassion and developing a compassionate mindset, which can help individuals manage and transform negative emotional patterns. Using Compassion-Focused Therapy in my practice has allowed me to help clients develop healthier emotional patterns by focusing on kindness, empathy, and self-care. Whether addressing trauma, anxiety, or low self-esteem, CFT provides clients with the tools to foster emotional healing and growth. The focus on compassion creates a sense of safety and support, helping clients break free from cycles of self-criticism and instead embrace their inherent worth and humanity.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based therapy is an approach I use when working with clients who want to integrate their spiritual beliefs, specifically their Christian faith, into their therapeutic journey. This method allows me to honor the client's values and worldview while providing psychological support for mental health challenges. It’s particularly effective for individuals who find comfort in their faith and see it as a source of strength in overcoming difficulties. Faith-based therapy allows me to guide clients in a way that honors their spiritual beliefs while also addressing mental health challenges. By integrating prayer, scripture, forgiveness, and spiritual principles into therapeutic work, I help clients navigate life’s difficulties with a sense of hope, peace, and purpose that aligns with their faith. This approach can be transformative, providing emotional healing while deepening a client’s relationship with God and their understanding of their faith.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy is a transformative approach I use in my practice, particularly for clients who feel overwhelmed by their circumstances, identities, or past experiences. This method focuses on helping individuals reframe their stories and view themselves as the authors of their lives. It emphasizes that the problem is the problem, not the person, allowing clients to separate themselves from their difficulties and create a new, empowering narrative. Narrative Therapy has been incredibly effective in helping my clients reconnect with their sense of agency, purpose, and self-worth. By externalizing problems, rewriting personal narratives, and deconstructing limiting societal influences, clients are able to shift how they view themselves and their challenges. This process empowers clients to create more hopeful, fulfilling stories about their lives and to make choices that align with their values and strengths.
