Hey there, I’m Andrea a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has spent the last 13 years in the field of Social Work. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Clark Atlanta University. I am also certified as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinician. I am here to be a listener, a supporter when necessary, and above all to assist you in finding and maintaining what works best for you to be your best self. I specialize in parenting children with special needs, relationships, depression, and anxiety. I believe everyone can overcome their challenges and acquire skills that can be used to fulfill their lives with immense joy and happiness. And that folks are the ideals that I can assist you in doing for yourself. Your greatest achievement will always be your ability to be self- aware and have complete self- determination.
During our first session, we will start building rapport. I want to know what brings you to therapy. I would need to gather some background information so that I can better serve your needs in this process. An assessment will be completed to determine any hx and or current diagnoses. We will formulate a treatment plan and projected timelines. At our sessions, we will work on the completion of the treatment goals, discuss progress made, and any problem solutions that maybe needed along the way.
My ultimate goal is to allow clients to have a safe space to face whatever may ail them. Assist in their healing, provide tools and empowerment to grow. My strength is simply that I care tremendously about my clients’ progress. Ultimately, I want our time together to be successful and that they are in a much better place now than when they first started therapy with me.
I have many years of experience building Individualized plans targeting the resolution of a variety issues. This is done by developing goals and objectives with my clients and assisting them along the way with successfully completing those plans.
With every client, one of my first goal is to find what a person strengths maybe and build on those throughout our therapeutic relationship. To use one's strengths, i believe can be the key to solving many of our underling issues.
CBT is a very useful tool as it allows to treat variety problems one may have. This treatment model provides for the ability to learn to have positive thinking, healthier behaviors, and to learn coping skills that can last a lifetime. This is treatment modality that i use quite frequently.
