Hi, I’m a licensed, clinical, professional counselor based in Illinois. After getting my Master’s Degree in Counseling, I worked in social services, counseling adoptive families in their homes. After my licensure, I began private practice counseling in 2014. I love helping children and adults find their true selves and gain a better understanding of what brings them peace and joy! Most people have negative thoughts they carry around wherever they go. And it damages parts of their lives. It can be hard work getting rid of this baggage, but together we can bring it to a safe space, talk, organize and decipher which things are healthy to keep!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we can talk about what the client wants out of therapy and what they wish to achieve.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a counselor, one of my strengths is relating to my clients so that they feel comfortable in discussing their issues.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

I have had many years of practicing CBT with clients. It’s successful because we look at negative thoughts and challenge the irrational beliefs within those thoughts . We can then reframe them to be more positive and rational.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness really just means “paying careful attention”; especially to the present moment! Clients find so much more peace in their lives when practicing these exercises.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The elements of this approach that clients have found helpful are working on increasing self-confidence, looking at the whole self (your lifespan), assessing emotionally supportive relationships, and gaining a better understanding and trust oneself.

Play Therapy

I’ve had a ton of education and experience with play therapy. Children have gained my trust through games, imaginative play, and art activities. They have been able to problem solve, express feelings, and learn new ways to relate to others.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Clients of mine have used solution-focused therapy when they have an idea of what goals they would like to achieve. We work on identifying their strengths and focus on how to use their own resources to take steps towards their own goals.
