I'm a therapist with 15 years of experience working with diverse communities and individuals. I have advanced training in several evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, DBT, and Internal Family Systems. I specialize in helping clients who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and difficulties with emotional regulation. My approach involves creating a safe and collaborative space where we can work together to address your unique needs and goals. I believe in fostering a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and understanding, which allows us to explore your experiences and work towards healing and growth
In your first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and creating a comfortable and safe environment. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, including your current challenges and what you hope to achieve. I'll also ask about your background and experiences to gain a better understanding of your needs. I'll explain my approach to therapy and how I can help, and you'll have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. This initial session is really about building a connection and starting to formulate a plan for your therapeutic journey together.
I believe my greatest strengths as a provider lie in my ability to create a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship built on trust and understanding. I integrate a variety of evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, DBT, and IFS, allowing me to tailor treatment to each client's individual needs. I'm committed to ongoing learning and professional development, and I'm passionate about helping clients heal and grow. I believe these strengths enable me to provide effective and compassionate therapy to a wide range of individuals.
Five years ago, I completed an intensive 18-month DBT training program. Now, I integrate DBT into my individual therapy sessions. This involves helping clients identify and prioritize problematic behaviors, and teaching them essential skills from the four core DBT modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness
In my practice, I utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which I've been trained in and have incorporated into my work for 3 years. IFS helps clients understand their inner world by recognizing and working with different 'parts'—sub-personalities that hold emotions, memories, and protective intentions. Through IFS, we explore these parts, heal the wounded ones, and ultimately foster a greater sense of self-compassion and internal harmony
As a therapist with advanced training in EMDR, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to help clients process traumatic memories. My training includes specialized approaches for addressing grief, dissociation, and complex trauma. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, to help the brain reprocess these memories and reduce their emotional intensity, which can lead to significant relief from PTSD, anxiety, and other distressing symptoms.
As a therapist specializing in trauma-informed care, I utilize Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy to help clients with PTSD. PE involves gradually and safely confronting feared situations or memories related to the trauma. This evidence-based approach helps to reduce anxiety and avoidance, allowing clients to regain a sense of control and live more fulfilling lives.
