Hi I’m Crystal! I have been working in the field of mental health for over 15 years! I specialize in working with women to improve their overall mental health, mindset and learning how to truly love and understand yourself! I’m truly here to help you empower yourself and gain perspective into your own life. I also have been down my own road of anxiety, health anxiety, major life transitions and chronic illness so my passion in this area is personal and I made it my mission to become an expert in it! I’m also passionate on holistic approaches and healing the mind body connection: nervous system healing, limbic system retraining, brain retraining etc. I have a suitcase full of techniques and skills that will be tailored to each individual client and your treatment will be unique to your healing needs! What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and I will want to understand your specific challenges your facing.I want you to feel like you have the space to tell me all areas you are excited to work on so we can make a tailored plan to work through in follow up sessions. I don't expect to know your entire life story in the first session, but rather I want to create an environment where you have and outlet to express what you need (and if you dont know what you need we will also figure that out )..... to then facilitate a treatment plan that promotes hope and a direction for all the awesome changes you will be making! I also may ask you various questions to better understand your goals and direction.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm not the type of therapist who just asks " and how do you feel about that" and leaves it at that. I'm passionate about truly helping you dig deep and push past the surface. I'll ask tough questions, challenge your thinking,and help you uncover whats holding you back, or keeping you in unhealthy patterns. Having personally faced anxiety, chronic illness and major life transitions, I understand these struggles on a deeper level. With compassion and a strong commitment to your growth, I'm here to support you in shifting your mindset, aligning with your true self and becoming the best version of you!!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to support you in understanding the ongoing inner dialogue you have within your thoughts that lead to anxiety, depression, chronic illness and ongoing worry/stress. You'll learn how to recognize unhealthy thought patterns and correct them with healthier thinking patterns to reduce your overall negative symptoms so you can feel like the master of your own mind!!

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In ACT you will focus on accepting what you cant control. We make space for tough emotions so they have less power over you. You will learn how to step back from your thoughts and see them for what they really are, and you will learn to reverse the control they have over your behaviors and actions. You will further learn how to not live in the past or the future but rather the present moment, and focus on what really matters to you, as well as helping you figure out your values and whats important to you. ACT is action based, it can feel uncomfortable, but once you get through that fog you feel empowered!

Psychoeducation

I try not to be your "typical" therapist in just doing "talk therapy" :If requested I also utilize psychoeducation: AKA : "actually teaching you hands on skills you can use daily to reduce overwhelming symptoms". I have a large array of coping skills/tools/techniques that are tailored for each individual persons journey, and I utilize this in a way where I actually teach you how to use them in your day to day life, as well as we process and practice these within session. I'm passionate on making sure you have a large tool box of skills to reach for when needed.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief treatment is perfect for those who are VERY motivated to put in the work and get to the root of the issues, and apply change quickly. These sessions are solely focused on the areas you want to dive head first into and have some sort of direction in. This treatment is only utilized if thats what you want. If i identify the need for deeper processing and digging then I will request we explore further with your permission.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I utilize "parts" work in most of the work I do with you because it can be such a game changer! (unless otherwise requested not to). Think of the movie "Inside Out". We all have various parts in us that want to be heard, understood and loved, I help you "get to know" these parts and understand them on a deeper level. We do this by openly discussing them in session, or going into a meditative state to access them and hear them. Its mind blowing how transformative this process can be!!
