Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the state of Florida. I completed my Master’s Degree at Barry University. I have been in the field for approximately 22 years, which includes experience in foster care, hospice, experience with families, substance abuse and veterans. Regardless of the population, my goal is always to help others overcome hardships and find their strengths.
The first session will focus on information gathering to help me understand your current struggles and what you would like to achieve. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know me and ask questions that are relevant to you.
My diverse experience has resulted in a broad lens to assess situations, which helps to avoid pigeonholing clients and avoid one-dimensional approaches.
I have used this approach in a variety of clinical settings for various years. These settings include: individual therapy with veterans, individuals dealing with life stressors, and couples. My objective with this approach is to help the client see the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Once that connection is established, we can work on making the necessary changes.
I began to implement Motivational Interviewimg techniques approximately 15 years ago. With this technique, I strive to work collaboratively with a client to help them determine their own reasons for seeking a change and exploring the resources available to help them achieve that. During this process, we’ll explore any ambivalence in changing, how important the change is and any reasons why a client might not be confident in making that change.
