Hi, I'm Erika! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia where I have provided individual, family, and group based therapy services. I help both teenagers and adults overcome shame, perfectionism, anxiety, and depression. My desire is to provide my clients with a space in which they feel safe, welcome, and understood. Rather than therapy providing one hour a week in which my clients experience the relief they're seeking, I aim to equip my clients with skills and understanding they can apply throughout the week and even beyond our time working together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I'd like to answer any questions you may have about the process moving forward as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strive to create a relationship with my clients that allows them to feel safe and understood while equipping them with the skills needed to gain their lives back. You'll leave the session with actionable steps to use throughout the week in addition to having a better understanding of yourself and the problem(s) you're facing.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have found Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) to be helpful especially for those struggling with anxiety, finding themselves consumed by their fear and discomfort. I believe that ACT also allows me to assist clients towards change that is most meaningful to them by clarifying their values and what direction they most want to move towards.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist client's with a variety of issues, particularly when clients find themselves feeling "stuck" and unable to make change due to the intensity of their emotions whether it be depression, anger, anxiety, etc.

Christian Counseling

Our mental health can greatly impact our spiritual health, and vice versa. Whether Spirituality is your reason for seeking counseling or not, integrating faith into the therapy process can provide a source of strength for clients and ensure that the change being made aligns with the client's values.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use components of Mindfulness-based therapy to provide clients with strategies that they can utilize between sessions to cope with stress/overwhelm and anxiety.
