Hi, I’m Amanda, a licensed clinical social worker. I work with children, teens, and young adults who may look like they’re doing okay on the outside but are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, emotional, stuck, or unsure of themselves underneath it all. Whether your child is having bigger emotions lately, struggling with confidence, navigating friendships, feeling pressure at school, or just not seeming like themselves, therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and build tools that actually fit their life. My goal is to create a space that feels comfortable, genuine, and supportive—not intimidating—where clients can show up as themselves while learning ways to manage emotions, build confidence, improve relationships, and feel more like themselves again. I also work alongside caregivers because meaningful change happens both in and outside of sessions.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and understand what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your current concerns, your history, and what you hope to get out of therapy. Together, we’ll explore your goals and begin thinking about ways to address the challenges you’re facing. You don’t need to have everything figured out before our first session—this is a safe space to share what feels most important to you right now. My role is to listen, support you, and help you start identifying practical strategies to feel more in control, aligned with your values, and connected to yourself. By the end of our first session, you’ll have a sense of how we might work together and what the next steps could look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the strengths I bring into session is that I show up as a real person first. I believe meaningful therapy happens through genuine connection, not just techniques or checklists. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am warm, direct, and authentic—and that they feel comfortable being themselves without feeling judged or analyzed. I also bring both professional knowledge and lived experiences that help me connect with people in a human way while still keeping the focus on their story and goals. I work to help clients feel truly seen and understood, especially when they’ve spent a long time feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or like they “should be able to handle it.”

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work especially well with children, teens, and young adults who are thoughtful, caring, and capable—but often carry more than people realize. Many of my clients are used to being the “strong one,” the helper, the high achiever, or the one who keeps things together, while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I enjoy working with clients who want more than just a place to vent—they want to better understand themselves, notice patterns, build healthier relationships, feel more confident, and make meaningful changes in their lives. I commonly support clients navigating anxiety, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, life transitions, family stress, people-pleasing, identity development, and relationship challenges. I’m also a good fit for children and teens who may not immediately open up or who have tried therapy before and felt like it didn’t connect. My goal is to create a space that feels genuine, comfortable, and collaborative while helping clients feel seen, challenged when appropriate, and supported as they grow.
