My Darren Harvey I have over 20 years' experience with mental health and with the substance abuse populations. The approaches to therapy i utilize are Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their life, all they need to have is the proper motivation and support. I do believe some issues are formulated from the family of origin and it is important to identify those issues which often play a part in dysfunctional relationships. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. Just a little information about myself. I am currently in recovery with 27 years clean. I also have had my own struggles with anxiety and depression. Through my own therapy, I was able to develop skills to cope with my emotions. Also, I attend 12 step groups to further maintain my recovery support. I am very open minded individual who will always do what is best for the individuals I serve.
