I have been helping people with challenging emotions and difficult life situations for over 26 years. I create a safe space to explore these issues while providing support. I borrow from different clinical approaches that include existential therapy, cognitive and behavioral approaches and person centered treatment. Therapy is a journey into self awareness guided by the clinical process or talking about the person’s and feelings.
The first session is spent gaining understanding of the feelings that led to deciding to enter care as well as an understanding of previous life events. Time will also be spent to explore any clinical goals the person has.
I am a strong listener who has been described as a “calming presence.”
The ideal candidate for talk therapy is someone who is open to experiencing and exploring their emotional landscape while gaining insight.
Developing insight into feelings is a key aspect of relating to others and healing through challenging emotions.
